While visiting Los Angeles on summer break from college, Jennifer was car-jacked and held captive for three days by her assailants. "She was once a child," pleaded the LAPD when they brought her to our child abuse clinic. Jennifer is the reason the VIP opened a Sexual Assault Center at LAC+USC Medical Center.

The VIP Sexual Assault Center is internationally recognized as the standard of care for victims of sexual assault. A team of specially trained health care and social service professionals is on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide forensic and medical exams that protect the health and the rights of rape victims.



These evaluations are provided away from the confusion and panic associated with emergency rooms. Working as a team with legal and judicial systems has diminished victim blaming while promoting effective investigations and prosecutions.

• Forensic evaluations including photo-documentation and evidence collection
• Medical evaluation and treatment
• STD and pregnancy prophylaxis
• Coordination with law enforcement, courts and social services
• Case management and advocacy services
• Follow-up medical care
• On-site Department of Children and Family Service workers
• Court consultation
• Subspecialty consultations and services through LAC+USC Medical Center

All services are provided for victims of all ages and genders. Staff is bilingual and multicultural.
