Call to Action... Join the VIP Volunteer Team! |
|
Caring for so many children and families is a big job. And not everything these children need is clinical. They need their whole lives rebuilt, and that takes a whole community of people. VIP has many ways for you to volunteer in our offices or in your own community, and change the life of a child for the better.
Volunteers are needed to:
- Serve as mentors - be a big brother or big sister to a child or teen and help them explore the world and follow their dreams.
- Tutor foster children who are struggling to keep up in school.
- Provide childcare on-site for babies and toddlers while their caregivers are in session with their therapist or doctor.
- Help out at special events for the children and their families like our annual Holiday Party, Mother's Day Makeover Event, Back to School Day, and more!
- Organize drives to collect stuffed animals, books, clothes, and other needed items with members of your family, neighborhood, church, school, business, etc.
Because our clients have experienced extreme trauma and are often involved in open cases with law enforcement and social service agencies, VIP is unable to allow volunteers to participate in the delivery of any clinical services, either medical or mental health. But by participating in our other volunteer opportunities you will be able to spend time with this unique and high-risk population of children and adults.
