VIP Online - January 2010
Happy New Year! VIP is riding high on the success of the Holiday Gift Drive. Your tremendous generosity meant every child at VIP and all of their siblings had a present to open this Christmas. That’s over 1,000 smiles of gratitude and wonder you brought to life. Thank you!
With the new Forensic Urgent Care Center in operation, we are focused on putting all of our facilities to best use for our clients and opening the doors just a little wider to make sure no one in need is struggling to find their way in.
Change Lives
January is National Mentoring Month. Anyone who has mentored a child will tell you that they have benefited as much if not more from the time they spend with their mentee as the child has. This is certainly true of the hundreds of volunteers who mentor and tutor VIP clients. While mentors work hard to encourage their mentees in the pursuit of their hopes and dreams, they often find an endless source of inspiration in the sincerity, humility, innocence and inner strength they see in their mentees. Mentors are people that these children can trust with their lives, health, ambitions, successes and failures; and everyone can always use one more person to trust. We salute our VIP Mentors and honor their service to the community!
